| Professor Horowitz is the Editor-in-Chief of the New Dictionary of the History of Ideas (N.Y.: Charles Scribner's Sons, 2005), awarded by American Library Association as an Outstanding Reference Source. She is the author of the book Seeds of Virtue and Knowledge (Princeton, N.J.: Princeton University Press, 1998). WINNER of the Jacques Barzun Prize in Cultural History of the American Philosophical Society. The book has sections on Stoicism, Augustine and Aquinas, tree and garden imagery, Italian humanists and Ficino, manuscript illumination and printed emblems, Erasmus and Luther, neo-Stoicism, Bodin, Charron, and Montaigne.. |
